If you are resizing it Photoshop, the resize can introduce crap that you don't want. Try this: Convert the image image to 32 bit, resize, convert back to 8 bit. Does that fix it? -

How do you go about saving each qSave as a keyboard shortcut? I can't find the 8 qSaves in the keyboard shortcuts menu. Do I need to do this as an action? -

Switching to png made it 8 bits. Switching that back to 16 bits won't do anything. Make sure you use an actual hdr texture, and the stair stepping will go away. -

OMG, please use JPGs next time, compression level 7 or 8. Each PNG image is 4MB or more. Very slow to download, and especially bad for those browsing on mobile. -

mr_rockstar, I think it's funny you say that because I heard the exact same thing about Max, I think they announced it at Siggraph this year that Max will stop at version 8? -
