Export it out as a Static Mesh, and then load it up from "Brush>and select "Box" from the brush list. Select "Geometry" where it says box.cgf and browse for the folder that has your exported model file.
You can also weld selections, too. The shortcut for that is ctrl+W. Just select the UV points you want to connect, then hit that. There's also something called stitching, but I'm not certain as to how that works.
Could you use TexTools 'render the selected UV faces as mask to clipboard' function to make a selection of the shell(s) and then run Warp? Or, are you wanting the Warp matrix to have the flow(?) of the UV shell?
in maya 2008 only spot have shadowing select one, use shadowmap at 2048 resolution and in "lighting" menu select "shadows", you are free to use it on high quality rendering or only in normal viewport.

Is the cube you want to cut through selected? It doesn't know where to cut when you don't select anything as far as I know. Could be wrong tho, I haven't used it in a few weeks.
The way I like to do those is on the base Mesh in 3dsMax, I select my border edges and use the make shape from selection. Then I edit the viewport rendering setting of the generated spline :) and voil
Select vertices, Edit Mesh>Detach Component, Mesh>Separate. Select objects, change Move Axis to Normal(Move Tool Settings), use the N axis handle to move/explode the now separated faces.
if that bubble does have a single uv shell you could select and isolate it... mudbox does not paint on hidden faces... if that bubble is a polyshell you could use the shortcut v + doubble click to select the faces...
You can project from view. Select that option from the UV tools tab and then select the viewport you want to capture the viewport-positions-as-UV-coordinates from. I think that's what you're after?
