I didn't look at the assets, but they probably simply painted over renderings of them to make them better readable. If we assume the models haven't changed during development (which could easily be the case, though) then some of the details are simplified or bigger or even translated. It's a known limitation with shaders, but if you're lerping as I think you are, then you could in theory use the CMY color set from your vertex color to 'marry' the parts that are clamping away from each other. Try painting in Red and Then in Green and see which color 'runs' away from the other color. Select yellow, and… -

Yep, rgb/matid masks are great and everyone should use them. Manually painting masks/lasso selecting is a big waste of time. Even if you're not using dDo or Substance, they are a great help, as you can automate separation in photoshop in a variety of ways. I meant as a final result that I'm going to stick on my shelf or whatever as opposed to Sculpey or any of the other clays that dry or become completely hard. I imagine Chavant would have a slight stickyness. If I'm going to keep Chavant models as my final pieces, they're likely to get dust and stuff all over them over… -
