yes. double-click the layer and in the advanced blending options you should have checkboxes for each color channel.

Cloth sims are expensive and unpredictable. Blended normal maps are cheap and predictable I know what id be using

You'd have to make a shader in Unity that blends the textures together in the same way that your Maya texture does.

Changed the grass material to try and blend it in better with the terrain, also put more of the base grass texture on the terrain
