you'd need the concept to be absolutely set in stone with zero chance of revisions to hit that kind of deadline on a character though. you'd also need some kind of technical documentation from the animation/rigging guys so that you can nail the lowpoly first time too.
hey man sry for off topic, but whats the song name from this video ? [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI3y0-zqW-M"]Hand Painted stone - YouTube[/ame] you say`d its gretchen liberum but i cant find it anywhere :(
The sword looks a bit too much like a club and the area surrounding the sharpened bit look like they were just rubbed across rather than hewn in stone. Perhaps sharpening it up some will give a much meaner and deadlier look. Other than that, it's impressive.
The bed looks nice! I like the folded blanket on top. If I may, the ingraved dragon's head looks too neat though. It doesn't feel like it has any interaction with the grain of the wood. No splinters, the paint is perfectly even... Nice work on the stone floor!
Mac, this is coming along great! Cool painting you are working from. I wouldn't mind more dirt/patina on the figures. Right now they almost look to0 bright to me. Maybe try sampling more of the beige color from the stones? Keep it up!
I don't know if that can work with your existing objects, since I haven't tried it myself, but maybe for future projects this tool could come in handy ? http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/stone-placement-tools Sry, if you already know about it :)
@Hopgood - You're absolutely right, and I noticed that towards the end of the night. I was mostly testing ideas, and decided this is a direction I'll be going in. I need to make those stone shapes much larger, and much larger cracks as well. Thank you for the heads up. :)
thanks, i always wanted my own thread just for me... but in all seriousness it doesn't look bad but the texture you have not with the model you have doesn't make since, its round like a river rock but seems to be rough like other stone.
@pigart I was trying to go for more stone, so maybe I need to add more harsher edges. Its kind of similar to some of the stuff they did for Darksiders. Thanks for the comments for the first skull, really appreciated. What do you think of the goat skull?
Looking good man! my only crit would be to add more of the dirt into the stones. Some of them look too grey. As if they were never affected by the surrounding dirt, same goes for the skull. On the foliage, desaturating some of the grass blades will also bring more variety.
