Now that's a technique I haven't learned yet. We've been using tansparency maps on the game we're working on at school, though it takes inordinate amounts of time for my tastes.

than maybe try it with fbx, as far as i know in fbx there are massive amounts of datas stored, if fbx works, we know that something in the obj-export-workflow is going wrong

You need to have a really strong sense of inspiration for that. And then you will increase your skill in a maximum amount. Challenges always been the great places for increase your art experience
