Without a doubt its 3D Max as the Graphic Engine is very different from Maya. Now as for you mention, Eric is correct it is a reverse face as your only getting some vertices welding to see if an object has a reverse face you can click render with the default settings and it will render out an image of your model and if…
@sacboi I don't think I will call them until I get my first assignment and see if I can take it or not. @McDev Yes, I did show some of my works to him. As far as I know this environments stuff that I will be going to do will not be related to game art anymore, so that's what I'm worried. You know that, they're building…
What Eric said. It wasn't a matter of having hard edges and the UVs being sewn up. It was the verts having opposing normal information to the map applied. The thing with having different smoothing groups (hard edges) and getting that split hard seam from doing so, is there a good workaround for that? I've heard of double…
Yeah it looks kind of flat right now, I can probably add some deep panel lines on the bionic horse to break up the silhouette more. I want it too look like a mix of sleek and clunky machinery. Also a bit of light scratches and dirt/grease buildup probably wont hurt. Cool suggestion! Yes I think a hunch over pose is better…
It doesn't erase the UVs though, Eric. It wipes the slate clean, yes, but not permanently. All you have to do is hit "reset UVs" and you have your UV's back. So if you go to map chan3, it will auto-copy the chan1 UV's into it. You can then hit 'reset' if you want it to default to a generic planar map. From there you just…
Amanda was really (is really) hot, and when i was 13 she said to my face "Ross Patel is such a loser" I was pretty crushed as a teen. Now she's all cool with me. I guess I only can overlook it cuz she's really pretty, which doesn't say much for my own chaarcter I guess *hah* Anyways, this guy in montreal named stfan is now…
I like you're crazy thinkin, you might be able to use the align highlight or align camera and then snap a light to the camera... But I think that will get messy. I also like Eric's idea of using conform to wrap a piece of geo around another. But what I normally end up doing, is just copy some geo, push it so it floats…
The brown concrete (?) at the top is a difficult material to read. I would reduce the saturation and bump up the specular. Overall, it and the material of the fan have too much dirtiness over detail. Additionally none of the dirtiness matches thow the environment would effect the model. As in, dirty coming up from the…
Eric I assumed thats what you meant. I'm making props and scenes for my reel and figured I would share what I learned from the experience. I figured you could add some insight of your own if you have the time. Part of the reason so many of threads show up is because the content created on many sites doesn't show up on web…
@thomasp : well, it's a bit different with UE5 though, as I personally find it to be straight up unuseable compared to UE4.2x in that regard (now in a backwards way this is fine for me, as I produce Marketplace assets which require strong backwards compatibility as to not fragment the userbase, meaning that I author…
