Wait a few more months to buy one. Since the 7800's just popped out, the 6800 cards are going to drop in price pretty quickly. I bought a 6800GT card, and o/c it to a little over 6800ULTRA spec, and it runs great. I'm using a Zalman VGA cooler on it as well.
You could also try bringing the forhead down, as it feels kinda tall for me and adding hair really helps get the idea of a female character quickly. Looking really good, and nice hands from zspheres, as I still cannot get good starts on those from them. Spark
lol that's funny. i never noticed he looked like he was peeing. He was walking in front of me and I just yelled STOP and he stopped and I quickly took a picture... the pose wasn't the most lucky one I guess :P Here's an other one I took...
@Teddy: Thanks for the heightmap feature! This is my old test file that was purely created with nDo. I just quickly did a conversion with your latest version with it. There seems to be something wrong, maybe due to it beeing created with one of the first nDo versions though. I will do some more testing soon ;)
cheers. i know its a lame format, i'm just using it for a little demo app that i'm creating. i have limited time and just needed something that i could get working quickly. i will probably at least switch to .x when i get time. thanks for the info.
and you dont like bridge or the shift+move edge method - because thats how I quickly wrap up meshes. There should be even some close caps or close hole functionality similar to the silo`s fill hole functionality which can speed up face creation as well.
Most important thing you can do is identify people you can trust and delegate responsibility to them. With a team that size you absolutely cannot give each individual the amount of time they deserve from a manager, let alone still deal with corporate stuff/setting long term direction etc. on top. A lot of people - myself…
managed to find some time to continue this - i quickly polypainted bc its easier to see the flaws in the model personally for me and have been working on the body so its one complete shape and subtool now! (apart from the neck flulff cause im trying to work out how to do that)
I box model way more than sculpt. For any workflow in which you already have a clear concept I find it's usually faster and more efficient overall. Sometimes I use dynamesh to quickly get the very rough shape of a thing in place, then retopo that and go with box modeling from there.
ok, i would like to expand this discussion concept artists: PLEASE use 3D modeling when making your concepts!! i am absolutely sick of dealing with 2d cheating which could easily be prevented by quickly blocking out your main shapes and painting over them. thank you
