Seriously, I'm going to drop it after this b/c a simple question turned into shit but #1, if it is just a pimp thread then I guess the entire page before about normal waviness, which exists in other threads on Polycount is also a no-no and #2, that would mean that we could never ask a person about their process if we liked…
I would like to announce that Drew "R13" is going to take care of the contests right now, he is following the contest for some months and I am sure he will do great. He is also the responsible for the Greentooth 3d prints, and this will make the whole process of voting and giving the prizes much better I wanted to thanks…
We use Rhino for some objects at work. Usually when we are provided files by clients. You can export from rhino to use within max the following files: .OBJ .SAT .STEP .DWG .DWF However, none of these will deliver a nice quaded mesh; the best result directly from Rhino to max or from one of these file types, was to add an…
When you are working with games all your polys are going to be converted into tris, no matter how hard you try. This usually happends when you export your model into the game engine, or you can do a simple triangulation manually. When you look at polycounts, always look for tri count. Beacuse thats what matters. It can…
hey thank you guys! most kind of you ^^ sorry for the late reply i thought polycount would send me an email if someone replies, but unfortunately i had to check back by myself. wow 25k :0 wow actually thats good so im not restricted by a polycount. our app will have only those 2 characters on the screen. they will appear…
@BradMyers82 Hey! I fixed some things on the character sheet, lengthened the legs and took the perspective pitch away from the front. I also modeled out his face a little better for funsies.I went ahead and just edited my post above above with the new character sheet. Btw, I just wanted to say thanks for your continual…
Thank you for the advice; I have tried many tutorials, and more than once too, but I should probably to it more systematically like you're suggesting. I really appreciate the tip. Okay, so I've ruled out tutorial #3 as well. That leaves tutorial #1 and the Veoh one that Psyk0 linked. The only thing about the Veoh one is…
@mobpapst if sculpting changes the sillhouette drasticly, i would make a retopo too. Otherwise you can clean up your boolean mesh and use it as lp. But i prefer making a retopo mesh rather than cleaning up a mess. Also hard surface objects generally doesnt deform, that means triangles can be used. So retopo process will be…
Actually, I believe the 603 isn't triangles, but indeed polys, so the triangle count would be about double. Am I correct here? Now, suppose you want to fill a medium-sized church with those, you would need like four to six for a row and at least 40 rows (20 on each side of the hall). This means 160 to 240 of these times…
Im in the same boat, none of the people I have met at GDC ever turned into anything much as I have more time to get to really know the people here on Polycount and they have that chance to get to know me. I honestly gave out of first professional business card last weekend when I was in some pizza place and some guy…
