Also this was amazing (19.20) Houdini, a comprehensive gamedev tool to making hair, it took less then an hour to make the hair below, as in the full pipeline! This made me open up Houdini, its like standing at the foot of Mount Everest, wish me luck! :) https://vimeo.com/326620881
That's cool that it still works after all these years, I would be a bit nervous about it becoming incompatible with newer versions. Bummer it still aligns to the smoothing normals, even with edit normals & break applied. I guess I'll have to try and script my own tool...
That was my only gripe - the workflow felt kinda bolted on and convoluted for the current version due to the reliance on PS without conforming to typical PS behavior. The megascan aspect seems really cool though and is the one thing I'm probably gonna miss by going with Allegorithmic's tools over these.
Ooooh ! I needed that too ! I need to look closer to TexturePacker options (tiling) but this is a cool idea. Hell i made a shitty maxscript for square textures atlas last week. This is far more superior. Max lacks of a flawless atlasing tool (among other things...)
ericdigital I'm sorry :( Yeah its cool to see other apps have this, but it would also be nice if Photoshop could too. I find painters brush tools to be really fun, it definitely feels like painting more, maybe its just the added bevel they have.
I think everyone here feels the same thing, but they are usually the ones who constitute the majority of sales. Just downloaded this game, took me 4 hours. Now it's fucking time, BOYS! Edit: There are two jump buttons :P and this is probably the best marketing tool ever!
Nice, but I can't use it: -If you have modifiers on top of editable poly (baseobject) and have show end result activated it doesn't work. I could definetely do with preview too, but the tool is nice otherwise, cool not to have to worry about awful poly flow :)
Been a long time since I last sculpted took me a while to set up and get tools working how I wanted. Made some progress on the centre part of the blade. Still going to go back over and add more details and rework some areas.
This is true. My main reasons for moving was because max was a resource hog, took forever to load and install and did crash on me a few times. I like the blender modelling tools though. But this problem does give me cause to move back which I think I will have to do.
warlox, that's particle fx, pure and simple. We have some resources here to learn about it. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Special_Effects Here's a cool tool for slowing down videos, or watching frame by frame. http://anilyzer.com/?page_id=7&type=youtube&vId=NrnI5Du9deU#playbackRate=1&seekTo=33
