That's looking tight, I love the polycount Neon. How did you do that render of the bricks for the wall, the highpoly? It looks very similar to how Epic does their renderings, and it looks nice.
Cool seforin, then we can battle megaman vs rockman x. Here is what i'm calling the "finished" highpoly: http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k30/ironbearxl/rockman_6.jpg
I would guess by looking at them, that its a combination of highpoly + bumpmaps. I think there are some areas that its very obviously baked, and others that look like classic bumpmap stuff.
@RomBinDaHouse: Thanks for the issue with the channels,it was a problem with the geometry of the highpoly bolts. I just rebaked em. Concerning padding: There actually is, i just have hidden the layer to better show the layout
i think you need more contrast in the lighting, right now the materials seem kinda flat. Don't feel like its doing your great highpoly and bake justice.
Currently testing different designs for the backpack. Some minor head tweaks and other stuff. Did first steps into realtime fur today, hehe. Hope to finish highpoly by the end of this week.
appreciate the breakdown dude! Just for clarification... At step #2 I assume you used a program like 3ds max or maya to create the highpoly retopology? (not zbrush). Then add details in zbrush.
Wow, these are great! Thank you so much for sharing! When you baked the highpoly to the lowpoly, did you have extra geometry to get a better bake and just removed it later?
