Raul summed it up for the most part. I agree. Also, remember to get rid of vertices that don't make up part of the outer silhouette. I can see a few that Raul didn't point out. Did you find reference for the back of binoculars? It would help a bunch. -Phil
Awesome, thats one thing down. Yea chugg tools had some useful stuff like spacing the vertices, but barely anything worked in 2009. I think my best bet is probably tweaking tex tools to include only the stuff I'll use. Thanks for the help everyone.
Little tired of asset making, did some test compositing. Adjusted lots of lighting and textures, not trying to force a color scheme any more. Going to tackle some futuristic tall buildings in the near future to add some vertical scale. No idea which direction this might take at the moment.
Ahh good, planted keys are quick but man can they cause trouble. The bip01 is a special case, you need to click the "controllers tab" to get at its rotation (turning), horizontal and vertical tracks. There are a lot of weird reasons why they did this I can get into them but its crazy boring...
Haha dude! That is so fucking rad. I second the suggestion for vertical movement of the paint cans. Have 'em jump a tad with the beat. Slightly more niggly: how hard would it be to have the animation match up with the beat? It's distracting to see the speakers pounding at a different tempo to the audio track.
confused to why you didn't just make the wood part tileable? you have one peice that tiles vertically... but why not just make it on a 512x256 and do the same for the rope? Congrats on putting it all on one page.. but you'll make it much easier for yourself if you use tileable textures.
man, you're really stepping up! I've had no time lately for some but it's very refreshing seeing you continue to pump stuff out. totally cool. traditional sketches are great as well. I love the last vertical one and the purple one in the post before. very well recreated.
'adikt' huh? Good luck! -I can see opening up the 'a' so it's not split vertically, and closing it at the bottom- this gets rid of the 'n' and the 'f' impression and still works inverted. But the 'd' is a real problem- it looks like an 'R' upside down and I can't think of any way to fix it.
I use UV layout as well. Hitting "i" tags edges for vertical or horizontal straightening. On a regular UV strip like the ones shown above, hitting "r" automatically unwraps them into a rectangle. Check out the hotkey page online for other methods.
Lots of promise, the scale does seem out, like its nearing hanger size. Pitch the camera up, and increase the size of the tables and show us what you get:) By pitch i mean elevate the camera vertically along the y axis, up.
