SHES LYING now on a serious note: Can't really say much about the current step except to push the curves if you're going for cartoony. Imo like i said earlier it would be a lot easier to tackle the cloth and shoes as separate meshes. anywho keep it up!!! -

Hey all, wanted to share my latest progress on this project. With the exception of the landscape it's pretty close to complete. Have learned tons about modular assets and shared/tiling textures and hope to bring it to future work. As always let me know what you guys think! -
Re: Outdoor lighting
Hey thanks people... This is the type of lighting I am going for. Skylights dont work well with normal maps so wouldnt a skylight option not be suitable? That is one of the reasons I never use skylights except for AO baking.. Also, this is for beauty shots for my portfolio. Thanks.. -

Saw it last night, it was entertaining and worth seeing. It did not change my life, or give me divine inspiration. It's a movie, not a religious experience. My wife and I enjoyed it, as well as most all of the other marvel movies, except Daredevil. I'll agree that Daredevil was a waste of time. -

Except that jpeg compression won't help performance at all, because jpeg is a disk format and has zero influence on how texture data is represented on video cards. Disk format is irrelevant for performance. Use .bmp if you want - it will affect loading times and size on disk, but not performance. -

Any modern solid engine isn't going to give a damn about your open or closed meshes. There are exceptions to the rule, and I'm sure somebody is going to immediately give me a list of engines that differ from this statement.. but thats the general consensus of 2007 game dev IMO -

I was looking into Linux OS and a Mac OS but neither look like they are compatible with the software I need ... except Mac with photoshop and maya. I don't think I'll end up using either of these OS but I'm interested to hear what you guys have to say. -

from what I have seen it is very similar with the limitations with the exception of being able to export directly to unreal or unity to get around the polycap limit. for me maya lt was the better buy since I could technically get around the absurd polycount export limitations.
