Hello everybody. Anyways im making a series of low spec vehicles to add to my portfolio. The idea is a series of Vehicles of different types, sought of like an RPG, you got the tank, the nuker vehicle, repair vehicle etc. The idea is to have customizable weapons etc so ive decided to make the chassis its own map and the…
Hi People, im started working on a M15A4 Weapon and for now i´am happy with the HighPoly: Here some Wires: I must say, that the right side of the M4/15 Weapon is horrible to model, when i try to extrude the Shapes out of the main cylinder and not just stick a new Box in it. Im Working now 4 Days on that and im happy with…
The problem I see with your portfolio atm is that is has too many things of varying quality and with no particular order. Some things look like you did them when you started learning 3d while others look more curated. There is also a lack of focus so I don't really know what are you good at I'd probably focus on taking…
What I'm hearing from people on this is essentially, my presentation on renders is not acceptable. That's something I can work on. Are weapons not "props"? Are props not highly detailed central objects that a player can examine closely? All weapons are in the hand, and generally require more detail, so, perhaps you can…

It really depends on the engine and the game. Usually static meshes/objects can be animated in engine without bones but often it unlocks a lot more tools if the object is treated as a skeletal mesh. Even as a simple one with just one joint can unlock certain skeletal mesh tools that just aren't available to static meshes.…
Yeah, that damascus steel pattern is something I'd like to know more about. Another thing that came to mind is how to do this thermal metal discoloration you usually see on some weapon barrels. Might be a trivial thing to do, as I didn't try it myself yet, but maybe you guys know some smart and easy way to do it.…
Alright! so after wasting 2 weeks thanks to a Hard Drive Failure losing lots of my data, getting a new HD was a nightmare as the tech shop had all noobs and it was a nightmare!!! I almost gave up on continuing until I saw an amazing artist finishing his work and really motivated me ( Thanks Juan Francisco Pico!!! ) as he…
Well thats easy:) It's because I liked those ridges. I modeled this piece with the intention to be a portfolio piece, rather than a true game asset. If it would have been intended for actual game use I can point out a whole lot more thats not suitable for such an asset at the moment. Obviously you can argue that a…
