Are you talking about the middle area where the UVs pinch in? If so, I just used the unfolding tool in Maya, nothing special. The only manual alignment I did was at the top and bottom (I took a screen cap at the wrong time so the bottom is still crooked).
ya I tried it and the fact u had to use there tools to make things... was lame. And how buildings often were like floating walls or floors made it look stupid. IF it looked like a real city where u could import ur own crap, then it be cool
I am glad to see to still coming here with me Pior, you are.. hmm.. a sublime tool ? that's it :) Ok i will try to get more confident and trust in me, when i am trying to explain something and must to do it in English would be easier in French, but it seems i construct my sentences differently in english that i would do it…
Hey everyone I started out with the intention of modeling the whole bike, but time is limited these days (as is my attention span!! - so many cool new tools to play with!!) so figured I would stop here for now. Modeled with a combination of ZBrush, Rhino3D and Maya. Rendered with Corona for 3dsMax.
Can anyone recommend a duplicate along curve script for maya? I just want to grab an object + curve and duplicate along. The more visual and options the better. OR! Actually what would be cool is some preset Mash marcos that have things like duplicate along spline or other useful tool.
Looks cool for sure although the platform requirements would worry me a bit (e.g. no Mac version at all?). But for retopo or generally working on top of a 'live' surface the shrinkwrap modifier in combination with vertex groups and standard modelling tools is a very workable solution IMO.
While the tools are cool I have a lot of issues with symmetry in the modeling kit. This is whats bugging me the most really. I'd like to know how others handle symmetry modeling in Maya. I've heard custom menus can do some good.
So Google kills off Unity extension, but still insists I download a 90's looking setup file from a hard to find link to use their Phone tool on FireFox? Yeah, I think it's clear someone didn't pay the Google toll...
Yeah, plus 3D preview with realtime edits, cage sculpting, skew correction, etc. Toolbag is pretty cool, but I'm biased obviously. =P There's a couple live link plugins for Substance tools in our add-on library: https://marmoset.co/toolbag/add-ons/
@LaurenceGEE for that one I just used the cylinder tool and adjusted the verts to be at a slant. Then just duplicated the first one, flipped it, lined it up, and bam took the pieces and just duplicated them over and over :) . Probably could have done it a different way though.
