Did some changes at the geometry (mainly the ring shape and the bolts and also try to soften up some edges). Also added some white noise normal to the green metal to make it more "rough" -

(other than scorching the eyes of enemies) some grenade rings hanging off the stems could be a good addition :) -

I don't work in Max so you need to get some clarification on that by someone who does, is there a collapse tool in Max? If so you can just collapse every other edge ring. -

looking luverly so far agree with AO comment about barrel, and i would suggest adding a couple of loops for the metal rings, it just looks a wee bit low compared to everything else -

thanks for the reply mop hmm I cant seem to get that to work, I mean I got the ring of edges selected in edge mode then when I press CTRL+4 nothing happens -

i'm not sure if i'm a fan of the colors in the concept, but the overall shape is kick ass. looks like something right out of Lord of the Rings. I could totally picture an elf.....or maybe a ringwriath wielding that.
