While I have your attention, do you know of any good tools that selects similar objects? Maybe selecting objects with the same number of faces. I found one such script, but it took a while to compute in large scenes, and it wasn't reliable.
For the rust I used a rust photo and using the magic wand tool on a high tolerance removed a large amount to keep only the saturated parts. then covered the uvs in photoshop with the image, took it into mari and removed the parts where i didn't want rust.
Anyone that's ever used ZBrush has used the Dam standard brush. This brush was made by a bloke called Damien. It was so popular that Pixologic decided to incorporate it as a default brush........enough said. The brushes are just tools. Use them. Create cool shit.
I tryed polyboost. Is indeed kind of cool but nothing really essencial. The painting tool in it is the worst. It create some kind of 1pixel gap every 25X25 pixel. Easy to take it out but kinda annoying. I don't know if others do that. will try

If you want to dive back into the spirit of that era you'll get a kick out of the Vertex ebooks, still available to download. https://ryanhawkins.gumroad.com/ Flipping through them again every now and then over the years it's honestly kind of amazing to see how the internet (and online art communities) have devolved since.…
Cool! Reminds me of the parameterManager utility written by Neil Blevins. Worth a look, he has a whole bunch of amazing tools: http://www.neilblevins.com/cg_tools/scripts/3dsmax/soulburnscripts.htm I guess I should ask though... what exactly do you want to edit?
@joeriv: Thanks for your comment mate! Sorry for the bad quality, I just took a quick screengrab with the windows snipping tool ^_^ Just wanted to show my progress and a little impression of my normal map. I will try to provide a better preview next time with viewportgrab :)
Kinda a far off request I suppose: Would be really cool if you could have a tool set to make an image tillable. Such as what PixPlant does. Just to unify things a bit more. Anyway, far off request and such but something I wouldn't mind seeing.
