Quick update here. Still climbing Mt. Learning-Modo-After-3dsMax-Omonjaro. I think I've got a good pipeline now and I can start shooting out modular pieces and variations.
Thanks for feedbacks, so after some computer problems (I think it is time to change my computer), this is the first pass on the LP with normal, diffuse and specular maps. (Render with Xoliul shader 2.0 with 3dsmax 2012)
That was discussed in the FWN thread here, http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85809 but it was buried in a couple posts so I updated the op and added the 3dsMax script and Maya's new FWN/aw feature to the notes.
3dsmax? You can use Jim Jaggers Animated Align script to snap and key bones to points that are set to follow the splineIK. If you are using maya there is probably something similar floating around, probably on creativecrash.com
I know it's probably not the right place to ask for this, but is there any plans for 3DSMax LT in the future? It was asked elsewhere on Polycount and I figured out, since some Autodesk guys are here you might be able to answer :)
There is a vertex renderer implemented via Maxscript in the Maxscript docs http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/MAXScript-Help/index.html?url=files/GUID-853014AC-9DC8-4F5C-B14B-3643E5925AD8.htm,topicNumber=d30e108290
if you use 3dsmax 2010 you can retopo your model with this technique! [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o8NgLJ1MJ0[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBP3Lb9rVXI&feature=related[/ame]
how do it work with tons of object? in game engine they usually use batching. 3dsmax doesnt have proper optimization for that. resulting massive slowdown. even for iphone/android games and only with flat texture shading.
Very very very very impressive :O And this is only 3dsmax? This could be done with the Unreal Engine 4, fucking awesome :D Can't wait to see your animations :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
