Looking nice, I personally really dig the post processing on the latest shot. Getting some good old school Alien vibes from it :) Some local atmospheric fog on the ground might add something, maybe only on one side to break the symmetry. Unless thats what your going for of course.
I'm now using Substance Designer, for everything. I sometimes launch some photo manipulation software when I need some more hand-made photo manipulation (like cutting, pasting, localized fixing). Other than that I don't see anything that I can't do inside SD.
i want that maya plugin, looks amazing how it locally subdivides more around creases to keep them clean. my main problem with creasing right now was haveing to knock things up to subdiv level 4 and it eating too many polys as a result, but this would help work out that problem.
yup, i totally agree with you on that. also, a predictable behavior is always preferred to an unpredictable one. currently the spots seem to be limited to the number of times the brush registers on the surface depending on local space (screen space) it might also be a performance limitation. @ gavku, i am pretty sure that…
I wouldn't do that, you're much better off just doing a local subdivision by going to your lowest subdiv, masking off the areas you dont want to be as dense, and dividing. http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Local_Subdivision Retoppoing is still your best option though as it will give you the cleanest mesh.
Hey Matt you have some nice props in there. Not much I can crit that hasn't been said already. How was Brown? I went there for a year and a half and then realized it wasn't for me. The cost to knowledge ratio was bunk. Hope you post more here good to see some other locals.
@renderhjs Loving the addon so far! Awesome work. Wondering how I can increase the AO Bake Intensity? Or the AO spread distance? I don't normally bake anything in blender but might incorporate it into my workflow :) Would also be nice if bake still worked if you 'view local' the lowpoly
It sounds like you work locally, which isn't the best of ideas especially after you save you're stuff to go home (you are saving, aren't you?) If a co-worker had to correct/fix something you did, they should be able to pull it off the network and not have to sit at you're machine.
ElysiumGX: point taken. My bad. I think the vast majority of people that use the internet cannot account for the amount of bandwidth they use, so you are right, that is the biggest driving factor behind this delay. Granted this is only a delay, but there is a protest being held locally at the Greensboro office in an…
The other is to win a contest. My local computer shop gave a 7800 GT away last month to a 12 year old kid. WTF?!?!? I cried as such a young boy to hold the most expensive and most powerful video card out today. I hope the video card blows up on him
