So I finished my first playthrough on the Engineer (Aegis Tanktastic Build). Game is pretty awesome. ONLY complaint is lack of story, but the sheeeeer fun factor, the gameplay, the quest design totally overshadow any complaint I could have. I'm going to invest a hell of a lot more time in this game making alts than I did…
This has come along a bit since I've seen it last. The windows are still one of the weaker elements visually, this could be down to both the texture and material needing work. For now I'd ignore the larger idea of a scene and focus on the building until you're 100% happy. I'd still recommend looking at Assassin's Creed…
I heard about that, I dont use 3dsmax though,, only maya which has a lame "reduce" function. I downloaded the trial ver of polycruncher and I managed to get it down to 300 tris while still looking good. *Set the document size (2048x2048 ) *Load your ztools *Place them on ur document making sure not to touch the border…
I´m currently working on a lot of 3d scans too. I did some quick geometry changes in zBrush and then exported the highres and lowres mesh as OBJ files. I did my uvs with uv layout and have a lot of islands. Normaly it shouldn´t matter how many islands you got. I´m baking my displacement and cavitymaps with xNormal. For the…

I bought the professional a few years ago but I haven't upgraded in those years either as nothing was inspiring for me to update. There is a discrepancy between Maya and UV Layout with regards to stretching and bunching on your UV, I wish that line was very narrow so that when I UV in UV Layout and bring it to Maya UV…
I think you've misunderstood my point, when I say "largest images" I mean on average, when you download a page and sort by file size all the PNGs float to the top. Are there some huge jpegs in there? Sure. But by and large they are PNGs. This is all ignoring the main issue though, I highlighted that 29mb PNG as an example…
@throttlekitty Textures are a mix of 1K, 2K, and 4K. I wouldn't say there is any EXORBITANT amount of textures or anything. The VP2.0 loading is essentially, I open a scene (they're in one of the 2 legacy modes) and can only move around at about 5-10 FPS tops. I change mode to VP2.0, it processes (small message in the…
Black Desert Online has a lot of really cool looking features like this, I really think it has the potential to revolutionize the MMO genre as a whole. As for why this feature is as detailed as it is, my guess is that it has to do with the fact that gamers from asian countries (who love F2P more than anything else) also…
Did you start your DDO project with the UE4 preset as well? Selecting the appropriate preset in the beginning tells DDO which maps to load by default, which in this case it seems like you loaded something using the Specular/Gloss workflow, instead of the Metalness/Roughness one that UE4 supports. I would read up on the…
