i'm no pro...but i actually agree w/MOP. i have created a couple of zbrush chars. and if you have elements such as spikes and such...they change dramatically when you bump the subdivisions. also, if you want to really conserve geo, if you build the mesh after sculpting the zbrush model you can really use triangles to your…
Just for completeness of this topic (don't you just hate when they aren't!). Having looked through the docs (and had a chat w OP) the Cube 2 engine (and derivatives) uses a modified version of the MD5 format to output slightly proprietary content so the generic MD5 scripts available from KatsBits won't work (not fully…
Thanks guys :) About the perspective thing. I have mixed feeling. To tell you the truth, back in school my teacher told me to scuplt W/o perspective off for Zbrush. But in the perspective view in other 3D software (such as softimage xsi or maya). But my latest boss told me the exact contrary. What are you thoughts ? better…
Morning, Pressing the W. E, R button don't reset the pivot position to shell center. --> it does but if after i try to rotate the shell via the Nightshade UI the rotation is still based on "Global" pivot ... I think you must force the use of shell pivot within the script. Do you have any other solution ? I use Maya 2014.
I just completed this creature a few weeks ago, as a final project for my modelling class. I used Marmoset to render it out. Here are some silhouettes. The one I chose for this creature was #10. Here are some action poses & orthographic views Here is the final render. Wire frame w/ topo. & texture count. Texture sheets…
I'm working on modelling a S&W revolver. Early stages. I abandoned the buggy because I'm setting deadlines for myself on each of these models, and I didn't meet the one for the buggy. I'll probably come back to it later. Also, some more drawings. I'm trying to get my head around conveying tone and form through…
Some texture work that I did today. I think I'm going to go with two texture sheets, broken into the top and bottom pieces, and then a simple glass shader because of the plant growth on the inside to break it up. My roughness texture is completely placeholder and just a b&w grime texture at the moment because I haven't…
Right. I've been looking around at a few diff sources on how to make them but I'm pretty lost. My super ghetto B+W map works surprisingly well with marm but not perfect which I'm not sure if marm even supports the type of map you and ace posted. There doesn't seem to be any documentation. Oh well, gonna keep poking around!
Kinda off topic: Have a look at that Muzz. Its the kind of people that have so much money to spare that they pay money to "settle bets" for a 9 year old and her brothers. :D Also, the mother of that kid is a millionaire, but people still give her money.…
Experimenting... From b+w ref, tried to use a colorized sketch with 'lit' colors coming through underneath. So all of my shadows end up around the same color... kinda works? For something quick at least. Figured I'd post these as well, done maybe a week ago for a mentorship-type thing, they need to be tightened up, but…
