Why are you not using a lowpoly model more like this, though? Right now you're just using a cube with some unneccesary loops, and it doesn't match the highpoly at all.
really like the lighting and motifs/designs in your first post! Good work on the highpoly work to, some kind of mountain bike frame I take it? Keep it up :)
Added the zipper and opted to redo the shoulders. Geert Melis' zipper brushes are fantastic. Should be about a week till I'm done. I'm going to leave it as a highpoly sculpt.
Poly-paint is only good for very highpoly models. I want to use the same tequniqye as "choco" at http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1590084&postcount=320
The 'wavy' lines actually look better if you are looking down the length of the cylinder. with the straightened version, you will see the edges of the cylinder start to facet and the highpoly illusion is gone.
Just a screen shot of my progess with the highpoly details in ZBrush. Targh is my first character i'm learning in ZBrush. Can't wait to get to the details. Crits plaese!!
THis is awesome. Can I ask what you did to create the normals? Was it all highpoly in your 3D app or done with zBrush? This is killer btw.. very well done.
lol eric edit: poop's hand models are still some of the best i've seen, both lowpoly and highpoly versions - intensely good feeling of tension and volume in them.
pinch it till it hurts baby! Although it might've been better if you started off with a hard-edged highpoly mesh from 3dsmax or whatever prog your using.
