A texturing system like Mari, or even Mudbox, painting directly on to uvs or model with pixel res, not points and then blend layers, filters and so on. Oh please! :poly124:
He he, they probably want to follow the initial concept art with pixel perfect precision. Even the lighting is on point, making it actually look like the original concept.
3.05 there's some tricks you can use on this, like comparing how jagged the pixels in you line are compared to the other lines, useful with the right angles and parallelograms.
In maya set samples to fixed, filter type to triangle and number of pixels to filter to 1 and 1. I imagine this is the same for max since mentalray is an external plugin.
You should make all channels black with a white dot (just pass of a brush, not a single a pixel). Using all white means it will have everything enabled.
hmm you can try to pick a section of the image like a one pixel strip then scale that horizontally... that will produce a gradient, but it might not be what you want at all.
