There is a lot that can be improved. I don't think your normals are actually doing anything for you here. I worked when i was 15 for my uncle, he fixes and sells pinballs and arcades. So i had the chance to be around arcades for 3 months straight haha So here is what i always notice. At the bottom you see a lot of dirt and…
Nice work, this looks really sweet! If you’re open to feedback at this late stage, your presentations/flats could potentially benefit from some changes. The three-sword image is a bit confusing. The front and back views look like they have different lighting; this could be because you painted some lighting into the color…
Alright I messed with the maps tonight. Tweaked the Reflectivity/Spec map made the water brighter in there as well as made dirt feel more like mud. I tried 2 variations of the water tonight. The first I toned back the saturation on the blue. The second I added more brown to the water to make it feel like its dirty. Look…
Alpha map technique sound promising. Do it. If were going after this in 3ds max/vray, id create two shaders. One for the new/clean texture and the other for the grimey/dirty texture. Feed those into a vray blend material, add dirt map (play with radius amount and for same object only) to the blend amount slot and attach…
Looks good but I would say if it is an old mansion like you said, surely it would be all roughed up and messy, a bit broken up, dirt etc? The indents of the floor look super clean. As a base texture I would say this looks pretty awesome, however for what you are going for, you need to dirty it up a bit :) . Hope that helps…
The dirt on the walls is over done imo, the amount and the type of dirtiness on them doesn't really make sense for the scene, and more so for a wall. It should be more of a leaking look. Also, the tiles that are protruding from the walls would look better if they were just removed entirely. At the moment they are looking…
Thanks a ton Rick those help a bunch! The next one I do, will follow the rules more closely now that I know about them. Mike, wow that is smaller than I thought the one on the right is the correct size but does not follow any of the rules, it is not even cleaned up properly. I did figure out an interesting way to clean up…
hi im not sure what your reference was, but when i first saw i got wipeout vibes take a look at these to help with the texturing side i also noticed that the vehicle looks dirty and damaged, as it should from racing, however the engines/thrusters look like they have never been used, maybe add some heat temper and maybe…
I love it. The modeling is really well done. I think I would dirty it up a little more especially on the roughness maps. Adding variation in roughness would give it a little more character and realism. Also, I would add some dirt or age on the tires to make them look less brand new. Hope it helps :) . Look forward to…
Hey guys :) Just started messing around with it, did a very dirty fast nade with some materials to see how it reacts. I have metal / paint / dirt and paper thingy mat on this. Looking pretty neafty so far, will try more things tomorrow, especially about the reflectance. I'm making a list of features / suggestions / bugs as…
