Hi! :) Theme: Derelict Facility The level is situated in a massive abadoned power-station in the middle of a drained ocean...Wide industrial spaces connected by bridges and narrow alleys characterize this gameplay. WIP link : http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138117
(left) POSE!! right up my alley! great! (hips forward, back backwards, head tilted down, shoulders back!) I tend to pose my fingers just like that, but I'm not 110% sure it's the right finger pose for this character.. but fudge it, good job!
Holy hell, her stuff is right up my alley! Surprised I've never seen the name around, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out now, though. ;) I'm picking up a lot of insp folder stuff here, too, keep 'em coming!
I've always enjoyed the talks that dove into some of the tech behind the art. Not necessarily the programming, but the ones like, "hey we have this new feature and this is how we used it." Ready At Dawn's talks for The Order from Siggraph and GDC were right up my alley.
As I look at it more, I wonder about the layout a bit. Light posts in an alley? Also, what is the deal with that deck and the ladder? The only way to get to it is to climb down from the roof, and when you get there, there is nothing there, just windows. What purpose does it serve?
i did a art test for a alley way for cryptic studio once, it was for a more comic style one ref they gave me, i turned mine in on time, never heard back from them,i suck i guess, lol Chris
Thought I needed a break from working on the alley environment and I am feeling more comfortable working in Unreal, so I decided to brush off the dust on some my older models and finish them and put them in a scene. Comments and critique are welcome. Thanks!
Definitely need to add more geometry to the walls, them being flat really takes away from the realism and interest. I also feel like there's a lack of anything giving a great sense of the scale in the scene, might be the grass tufts being really large for weeds in an alley throwing it off.
You should try and make complete scenes though. Like have an alley, sewer, bar scene. Any prop that might be in there you might have to create. So you might have to model cars, trucks, statues and weapons. The focus would be different. It all depends.
Any sugestion about this lower part of trunks? How that can be solved? http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-14510662/stock-photo-birch-tree-alley-at-sunny-spring-park.html so far.... splited trunk but I will try to make transition part in texture an properly map them..
