Great model and nice textures :) im not pro on this but here is some little tips: -remove space or make it less between blocks on stone texture -add more details what material is that goldish texture on tower foundation?
Before tweaking materials or working on the lighting you should get the scaling of the scene right :) The heater for example is way too small. Just compare it with the bricks. One brick stone has almost the same length as the heater.
This tutorial here might be useful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNa49OY0o9E And here is another one. Maybe you can translate what they are doing with the stone to the sand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeL2djas2gM Good luck!
@Chronicle, Thanks! I see your point and I have been afraid it might come off too much like stone. PErhaps pushing the highlights will indeed eliminate this. Perhaps change the colors a bit too.
Did a bit of a pass over the metals (thank you kiwi) and some variation to stone bits. I'm still not too sure what to do for the top piece probably do one more clean pass over it
I agree, atm it looks more like somebody chucked a smoke grende at the bottom :P Make a few holes in the clouds there, and show some irregular ends to the bottom of that stone work, give it some nice volume.
just shoot :) i'll tell you if i can't talk about anything i am preparing an art dump, but it's a lot easier with characters than with "look here, 10 painted stones" thank you everyone!
More updates from me! yay :) Anyway, these are mostly from the SD6 Beta phase that I had a pleasure to take part. Abstract doodling: More work on coral reef: Completely procedural books: And a stone pond:
that looks really good, you can clearlly see the progress between these shots, keep it up dude and always keep an eye on the references, try to take a look at the type of stone you are trying to create and recreate them
My brother has a webcomic and a few other things in the works comic related. "The Chronicles of Paliax is about a stone golem on a quest for his backstory (tee hee), his chapter zero, his identity." http://paliaxcomic.com/
