Hi and welcome =) I like the gun, looks pretty good. It would be nice to see the wireframe overlaid on top of the render so we can see how it was constructed and gauge its tri count, but it looks pretty solid.
Way to early to crit this. Put in a couple of more hours and come back later. Also post wireframe shots and shots with less harsh lightning (or it could be a black material...in that case just make the whole model an uniform gray).
excuse for flood but it seems my edit wireframes etc have drawn into others threads... Let me hope you'll comment that edit once or twice. It is really important for me to have advices and critics from people of experience.
@Armanguy: Yeah you got a point there.. Thanks for pointing that out man. However I put status finished on it couple of days ago. Might go back and add something back there though. Anyway, here's the final, with wireframe!
Here the wireframe version: The model has about 10k Polys; I think this could be optimized a little bit, but then maybe also normal maps should be used, because the reflection of the environment-mapping might get cracks otherwise...
I love this site! So much work with everything anyone would ever need to know on a single page. Good colors and the background wireframe porn is a nice touch. You have a ridiculous amount of work, what a pro!
This looks super cool and fits nicely into the Dishonored universe! Did you bake the tentacle to a displacement map and use that to drive the color ramp? Or ist the tentacle actual geometry inside the bottle? Doesn't look like that from the wireframe shot of the black bottle...
Ohh God ! I wanna make one of those ... Great work as usual. 1. question: looking at the wireframe of the outdoor shot, Do you guys use static mesh for the terrain ? No Engine landscape/terrain like in UDK ? Any specific reason for that ?
Sounds like a plan Bonebrew... I'll whip one up tommorow. Aajohnny suggested i put in some wireframe shots, what are peoples thoughts on this? I'm not sure if such LP objects (300-600 tris in most cases) need much elbouration?
Hey thanks, Brian - I have seen that, and it awesome! The wireframe images do help a little. Looks like he started with a quad sphere. I am trying the same, just not working out quite a well. I'll keep at it. ;) Thanks again!
