Quick update, I have the tea house blocked out, the roof is a mesh but the rest besides the sliding doors are BSP brushes I plan on getting rid of soon. My other goal for this scene is to build everything that I can modular.
Wow got on the front page thanks everyone (especially the guys at the polycount for the front page)for the huuuuuuuge support I am getting the motivation is through the roof will get everything covered in unity next and again love all of you(no homo xd)
Sculpt is looking great. However your planks are too perfect, and evenly spaced. Try adding variation by creating some uneven spacing, shift some planks at an angle, to reinforce some of the weathered look that you have sculpted. Similar to the roof.
How extensively can we add our own models to the scene? For example if I wanted to add a roof to enclose the open ceiling, would that be allowed? It would be adding a larger scale element without re-positioning any of the existing assets.
it's a bit late but everything feels very short and out of proportion. maybe simply filming from a lower angle would make it feel more impressive, or perhaps just scaling the buildings vertically nad throwing some fine details on the roofs.
Agree with the above comment. Really solid, but lighting could be more dramatic and defined to really make the level look great. Some of the bare concrete such as the roof beams could also use a little more variation. Perhaps other props or decals.
Low is looking good, but a long ways to go still ;) I would still want to see you make a low poly for those round discs along the sides of the roof. One for each design and then place them when you are finished.
Only make what you're sure you're going to use. If, when rendering, you realize you need a wall/roof/window/whatever in order to work with your lighting, it wouldn't take too long to throw together a quick mesh for that.
Good work so far man :) I feel like this piece needs a more interesting center-piece, a more interesting focal point. and don't get lazy ;) Even chains in the roofs attach to something :) Keep up the good work!
