Here's my initial blobby dynamesh blockout of the armor. Next is to refine the shapes and focus on the silhouette and primary forms. I find the first few steps to be the hardest, staring at a blank canvas is intimidating. Starting from a basemesh to extract forms can help make this task less frightening and speeds up the…
Looks a little glossy on the floor. But I love your blockout, its awesome that you took to time to get lighting setup to see how that would work. just have one major question... why is their no wall the second story? what do you plan on doing with that open area? higher res screenshots would be a plus. try highresshot 3 or…
I worked alot on my head scan and body scan today. I'm probably not going to do much with the body scan, but I'm taking my time with the head scan data to get the most out of it. In the mean time, here's some super rough gear blockouts on a decimated body scan: not worth an update, but I did a bit on the suspension as well.
Ah thanks for all the love and support guys! Things are starting to pick up on Halo so I'm only getting 30 minutes a day to pick at the blockout. The proportions are there, except for the pelvic area. He's a tad too forearm heavy at the moment so I'll be scaling those back as well. After that I'll start the fun part, going…
A very minor update tonight. Playing around with UDK to see how it compares with Cryengine 3. I must say I prefer the results UDK gives with the bounced lighting and the softer feel. I'll keep going in UDK for now and see how I get on. Still mostly in the blockout phase. This was more of a test so please forgive the lack…
Hey, thanks for the input , a mix sounded like a nice idea so I just went with it. Been working on the ceiling a bit more and starting blockout out some sort of circular platform to break up the floor abit , I am also planning on another floor tile . Anyways hope you guys like the update and CC is very welcome.
I don't know Illustrator. But I do know Flash. Japanese tattoos are quite graphic as well, so less shading is used. Some is, in fairness, and that's represented in the petals of the flower. Didnt use gradients on the leaves in an effort to make the petals 'pop'. I'm running behind on this, modelling the base mesh took so…
Hello polycounters! This is my first stab at doing one of these weekly challenges. I was able to get the blockout finished last night and able to clean up a few problems this evening. Still needs some more polish but thinking it's turning out okay. Let me know what you all think. :) [ame]…
Hey man really like the progress on the mech! biggest thing that stands out to me is the imo this looks more like a blockout of the main shapes/details than a finished high-poly. I would take take what you have and take it to the next level as it stands now if you were to bake this model down some of that detail would be…
He's kind of looking dumpy in your blockout. Like an out of shape, older man. In the concept art, he looks mid-aged and in really good shape. I think it's a matter of tweaking the build and proportions a bit, which you'd be best to do before you start sculpting so you have a base that's as close to your concept art as…
