You need to press SHIFT+SPACE inside of 3DO with that mask highlighted in Photoshop. Otherwise 3DO won't be able to transfer the mask details to Photoshop.
Reading the documentation you can use masking to preserve detail in specific areas, where the mask opacity controls the severity of the optimization. Pretty cool.
Can't you do it in two steps? Paint your mask and apply it to the layer and then blend it. Keep a copy of the original without the mask effect applied to it.
You should be checking every map that DDO works with to ensure that it's consistent with the style you need. Edge padding shouldn't be the issue - it's just another set of dark and light pixels to DDO, as far as it's concerned. I actually prefer to add padding myself with the xNormal Photoshop plugin, since I tend to…
Opacity does seem to be the issue, Depending on the layer order and content the solutions would be to: If you are using generator to make edge wear increase the contrast of the mask so the edges are sharper since as Brian said its either worn or not worn, and in case the paint is scratched only thing that would…
Hey, here´s the promised quick breakdown of the foliage shader. The whole thing is pretty slim with the key idea to only use a completly white base texture with a mask that resembles foliage shapes. Colour and Global Overlay: Base colour with a global tint map multiplied in wordspace to break up bigger areas with some…
Well, first thing comes to mind is this (note I'll be talking about a procedural, feel free to use textures as you see fit). Also, I'm going for the most expensive solution, but hopefully you can come up with your cheaper solution since the basic idea applies. Change material type to Translucent. Take a TexCoord node and…
[ QUOTE ] There is still something about being online (anonymity or no anonymity) that seems to boost fucktardedness to *extra* super duper fucktardedness imo. [/ QUOTE ] I really think it's just anonymity and what comes with it. It's like wearing a mask as a criminal. It's not just to not be recognized, it also helps you…
Some recent updates: - Worked a bit on the wrinkles on the sleeves/pants - Lowered the codpiece and rounded it out a bit - Removed the third belt (the top one) as it just looked really awkward sitting so high on the torso. It was also a part of the torso subtool and not the belt subtool so it was kind of a pain to work…
