i think there should be more missing bricks around the hole. bricks around the hole would receive the most amount of shock from whatever blasted the wall

Yeah, UDK would offer an "authentic" look, but it would also likely require a team of people with specific experience using it to pull it off in a reasonable amount of time.
try those settings they are increasing the tex res to 4k. r_ShadowJittering is the blur amount for the shadows.r_DynTexMaxSize = 400 e_ShadowsMaxTexRes = 4096 r_ShadowJittering = 6 e_ShadowsConstBias = 1 e_ShadowsCastViewDistRatio = 1.5
That white actually helps a surprising amount. It really would be worth squeezing in time to add a white trim to the best. I think it'd make all the difference.
seems like they used the same shader for almost everything, at least that's what my eyes tell me :P Everything seems to have the same amount of specularity.
Don't make a reel. Take the time that you were going to invest in putting together the reel (which is a substantial amount of time) and make another portfolio piece.
