I suggest 3ds max and just get really good at modeling. Most people bake out ambient occlusion maps and use those as a base for their diffuse, which makes Photoshop at least slightly less important in "next-gen" workflow. However, nDo is pretty neat and quite a bit faster than 3ds max sometimes. -

Kend, marry me. This is some high quality, next-gen, inspirational over-the-top shit right here! However, before you do away with the mohawk, perhaps blend it in with some stubble around the scalp? Even some short hair would work. The also shows it bending down forwards, so it's a little less waxed. -

This was the shortest but best tutorial I've read since a long time renderhjs. :) Starting with an AO pass is always a good point. MAybe you could take a look at the next-gen texturing training. Helped me a lot with texturing. For metal stuff in realtime a light cubemap would be a good solution too. depends on the engine… -

Everytime I run this game, it runs for like 10 minutes or so then crashes. Just completely turns off (just the game, no errors or pop up messages. And i've alt-tabbed out once and check my speedfan settings and they were fine. My computer can run any current gen game fine too. :( -

thanks for the info guys, the project itself doesn't need to be next gen quality, it has to look acceptable that's all, a while back i was looking at blender's game engine, but got kinda turned off by the interface @EarthQuake : can you really make a game using ue3? i thought it just made levels for unreal? -

It means that EA realizes how in trouble its sports is, and their doing something about it (or trying). Is this the right move? Probably not, we'll see what happens, but at least my brother will be encouraged that EA is at least trying to raise the bar on their "mainstream" sports franchises which have slipped the past few… -
