Really liking this piece! Getting some nice Last of Us vibes from it! The only thing I can notice right now, is that the antenna on the roof to the left looks really, really big, especially compared to the tree in the scene.
Well, first of all i should add that I use this workflow :http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/ModularMountAndBlade As far as the normal maps go, I'll try to see where I should use it, might add it on the roofs especially.
Yeah cool man. I see a lot of edge loops going into the near flat surface of the roof and bonnet while the heavily curved bumpers are getting hardly anything at all. They are far too angular. Now is the time for redistribution
If you're doing environment concepts for a room that will actually have gameplay, paint over a grayboxed room and/or after having talked to design to see how the room needs to work. Otherwise, we all ooh and ah over a beautiful environment concept, and then immediately trash everything except a handful of elements that we…
It is a little bit better haha, but I still see tons of empty space all over the place!! I bet you can find a better way to pack so that there aren't big, gaping empty places when you're done. What I like to do when I pack is first normalize all the pieces, then put all the big pieces in the map, scale everything up until…
@ Nerf Bat Ninja: Thanks dude! Yes I am looking forward to working on the materials. Finally out of the Lost Woods of Lowpoly/UV/baking... mostly... @ l.croxton: No worries man, the whole reason I'm posting is to get harsh feedback, so thank you! But next time tell me if it sucks before I do the whole UV layout ;) . I'm…
ZBrush and 3DS Max. My concept for a two seat small jeep made for speed. It is built with an Aluminum perimeter frame much like a Quad or dirt bike. Because it is mid Engine the seven slot is on the roof for the radiator intake. Special thanks to Izaak Moody for help with the design for the front.
You can't push an edge outside an existing face in max but there are plenty of other ways to achieve the roof overhang example. I'd probably snap my pivot to one of the top vertices and scale it although using face constraint might do it
I was pushing the ugrids through the roof on skyrim because I absolutely cannot stand loading pop ins I had to sacrifice some res. I don't like windowed mode because my desktop is distracting :P
Great thread! Here's some work I recently did for EverQuest Next: Landmark. Forgive the upside down Obsidian Roof tiles, there was a bug when the shot was taken :P All made from scratch in zbrush. No Photo sourcing.
