Thank you, but I've actually made it worse now before I could try the soft/hard edges. The material is gone from the body apart from the foot, and if I try to re-assign materials it only changes the foot.
Here is my rune thing that i fixed. @Kendmd : I like the body of the top right one with the head of the bottom left one. Andyk125 : The treant kind of strange. One side is hard and rigid (bark) and the other is soft (vines).
Try the simplify mesh tool. It DOES look like a smoothing group thing to me. The simpolify mesh tool lets you choose: Preserve Smoothing Groups, Make soft or Make Hard....make hard yo. Hope that helps
Had a few people also suggest a toggle for soft/hard edges so i'm currently working on it :) Will be making a proper interface for all these tools, too. If anyone has a suggestion for a tool to be added to hesitate to tell me,btw :D
I have a soft spot for 4 as I am a bit of a Troughton fan, but 1, 5 & 8 look the best. 1 could be the Dalek Supreme, 5 is a leader of some sort and 8 could be your standard minion Dalek.
Modeled the stand in 3ds Max and imported it into the Mudbox scene. It's finally starting to look like a complete, solid model. Though there is still a lot of stuff to do before it's finished. Next I need to blend the "soft parts" of the stand to the torso.
The sand looks good! I would make the tire marks look less consistent through the sand. It's a very soft surface and at some points it will dig in more and others it won't. Right now it is very even and flat across the surface.
the conquistador dude looks good! the piggy looks a bit red all over and also gritty all over, maybe more subtle colour variations(wheres the purples and blues and light pink?) and some soft smooth felshy areas.
pior: Really dig the graphic look with the hair and scarf. KP: Nice use of soft/hard edges. Technique noted and filed. I shall use your skill against you. Prepare for battle vile fiend! Couple birdies...
the slide is looking a bit too soft on the top chamfered edges. also the area above the trigger (the recessed area near the trigger housing pin) looks like it needs to be recessed in a bit more, and just blend in more with the rest of the gun.
