hey cool idea as far as a lighthouse! maybe render it with the wireframe so we can get an idea of what youre working with topology-wise. As for texturing this beast, the reference images have some pretty lame textures, as far as a story behind it is concerned. maybe place it in a setting where its taken damage, grunge up… -

Thanks for the critique, you made good points here. I'll be changing the angles so the low res doesn't look like it has a texture seam. I'll also smooth out the top portion of the damaged area, and add some rubble on the ground. Great point with the alphas, they definitely wouldn't look the same around, and I didn't think… -

The others have made really good points on what to change, some of the stuff that I would like to see personally is that if you're going to do erosion and battle damage it would be neat to tell a story through the wear and tear. Have specific areas where the shield would be hit more often than other areas. I really like… -

What you have is decent. But to me, nothing about him screams chieftain. Nothing that says experience. Some things that could help you convey that message would be -great big bushy beard -really long hair -battle scars -more damage on the armour -some sort of hand item -tattoos right now, especially with the helmet, to me… -

Lier!! to be honost, i havent payed any attention to smoothing it, i work with small pieces so they heat up fast and i dont damage my girly thumbs trying to get it flexable. make small strips and just past it on there, and move on to the next. so yeah, im fleshing it out atm, not paying attention to detail, just getting… -

Last time i had a problem (XP rebooted over and over) i booted in safe mode and used restore point. Might be worth a shot. Hopefully it will restore an error free registry, just pick a date that was stable.
