Agreed. I was a little (well a lot) concerned with most of the major industry standard 3d packages being under one roof, but they have been offering amazing promotions like these and still continue to provide excellent updates.
I was really unsatisfied with where I left the texture on that house, so I went back and adjusted the UVs so the roof got a bit more attention. Here's the new texture at 512: And applied to the model at 256:
What details? Do buildings in modular way. So walls, roofs etc, big pieces will be tiling texture. Doors, windows, beams, boards small/big etc, will be separate object/model, with separate map/UV.
Like the shape of this. I think you could play a little more with the shape of the tower and roof... so that the lines don't look straight. Would give it an interesting silhouette. good job!Keep us posted man.
thanks, Toki. here is a roof tile texture i made today. painted some tiles then laid over a photo-sourced dirt map not sure why image is broken. http://img684.yfrog.com/i/rooftiles.jpg/

Hi! Other things I would note: * Some elements like the tree trunks and the beams of the house are very straight. Add some width to bottoms, like weight is resting on elements and to ground them. Add some variation to straight lines. Bend horizontal beams as if they had to carry weight. * Pay closer attention to…
That looks great, at first i thought it was tiling textures with a mask. But I can see at the roof brick closest, that it got some kind of tesselation effect going on. Maybe a mix of both. tiling texture + alpha cards on top to create that effect?
24-09-21 : lot of update but added neon green is a "roll cage" i think it is, added nos and the roof viewer. Need C&C i suppose, bottom of the car help, might start a w.i.p. thread.
@KiddYouNot Thanks man, appreciate you stopping by and posting helpful feedback, i am looking forward to how it turns out also, i am trying to make something cool looking and maybe adding things not done "yet". No time constraint, i removed any limitation since the goal has changed. You are correct they (lockers) are doing…
