I like the color variation on your stones, only I think all of your lines are a little squiggly or fuzzy x] maybe try using some bolder, straighter strokes here and there for variation.
I hardly ever got the stones to post here, but I just gotta express my level of squee at what I'm seeing in this thread. Keep up the most awesome work here, guys. :)
To me, this is looking a lot better. The stone looks much better, much thicker....and the sign looks good as well. Nice job overall! Now just keep at it, and you will get faster with each one! :)
I didn't have the stones to watch the video - but the photos tell the story beautifully. The change in a year is amazing. Glad to hear that life is working out well. Congrats to you both on the upcoming lil' addition!
Try to sharpen up the mental a bit, look's a bit like stone. Sharp scratches and more subtle cracks should do the trick. Get some more contrast into the wood as well. Nice start.
Foliage looks awesome, but we really don't have much in the way of freestanding granite formations like that. We have a lot of exposed stone faces in mountainous areas, but not column / pillar type outcrops.
I snack on pies and cake with red wine and diet coke and coffee and hula hoops and starbust with a pack of minstrels. since I started doing games work I have put on 6 stones:(
Nice tutorial, indeed. It's concise and easy to understand. Recently I've been making some zbrush models of statues, and this technique should work very nicely for making hair that looks sculpted from stone.
Diving back into creating environmental assets and approaching the plan to start selling AAA quality asset packs. Here is a group of stone assets that I slapped together to create this formation. Rendered in Unity Each rock asset is currently under 1000k poly's.
Anyone have any tips or tutorials on how to create a tileable texture for brick in Photoshop? Stone and concrete not a problem, just offset and work the seams out, but anything with a pattern in it throws me for a loop. I know I have to be making it harder than it is.
