hmmm I cant find out exactly who it was that did the concept work but heres valves staff list and a few people are noted as working on TF2 on there http://www.valvesoftware.com/people.html I bought Edge magazine "The art of video games" and theres 3 pages of fantastic concept illustrations for TF2 in there, its about £8…
check out Crazybutcher's vertex blend FX material It lets you veiw vertex blending in the viewport, which is nice for terrain stuff, and it also does multiply and overlay textures so you can have a repeating brick pattern on a wall and then use a dirt overlay that is using a seperate UV channel here's a sloppy drawing to…
Hey! You can try the xNormal filter for Photoshop aswell. By the way, you wrote in "About me". "Xnormals Adobe Illistrator " I think it should be xNormal and Illustrator ;) Cheers! regardless, it's clear from the illustration in ely's post that every major console manufacturer is guilty of shamelessly ripping off nintendo. I want to see what microsoft and sony will come up with this time as for those leaked specs, if they are infact true, then the revolution will be quite on par with sony and…
Another very nice drawing. The rider's upper body is far too large and i think his leg would turn out more. The clouds, while great, do not transition into the grass well or around the horse. The composition is also much better. Have you considered illustrating in ink? a painted wash would really compliment your style.
This is spot on, we had a similar guy at our old work who never touched Zbrush, a little while later he was modeling some crazy gorilla bust and people were blown away by how fast he'd picked it up - of course he did have like 10 years of conceptual and illustration design practice, so there was that :D
http://crazybutcher.cottages.polycount.com/wip/fakevolumebb0.jpg http://crazybutcher.cottages.polycount.com/wip/fakevolumebb4.jpg it's not so über, as most stuff pimped, but it only requires a simple vertex-shader and billboards, ie pretty cheap. I tried to reverse engineer the volumetric smoke stuff of SOTC, which is…
"Solid background in traditional arts included but not limited to animation, illustration, design or traditional media2 got to work with that. modeling, texturing, and animating objects using 3ds Max and Photoshop (or equivalent 3D and 2D programs). Does this means if I am well versed with Maya do i get to work with maya?…
Yeah i will likely end up doing that. But.. I work with Maya. I am not exactly sure what a spline is nor really how to set the pivot point. Would I just copy and paste the single ring of leaves a billion times? Or is there an automated way to do things? And btw my poly budget is non existent. This is purely for…
Wanting to give up and die is part of the whole learning process, right? Right now i'm feeling completely sick of drawing, because no matter how much I try, it doesn't improve. I'd love to illustrate what I mean but I can't fucking scan anything because my scanner is possessed with some fucking demon shit
