Oh man that video was great! I can't wait to see more of them. I often try to explain these topics to students that are very new to normal maps, and I find that it is a really challenging set of problems to articulate well. Thank you for your work on this project
The prints came out wonderful. If I would not have been a student, and the shipping to Europe is quite an extra to the price I would be ordering one. But good luck in selling the ones you have, I do hope you get them all sold, as they are awesome!
Unfortunately I can't really afford to pay for Digital Tutors cause, as a student, money isn't really something I have in fair amounts. I found the unofficial forum too if I'm not mistaken http://www.si-community.com/community/index.php I'll look into it! :D
Bingo ^ Ask for advice. Get advice. Consider advice. Also consider that advice given by students is going to lack perspective and experience. Then.... Stop thinking about the future, and focus on the work right now. The loop stops there, at least until you've got some work finished.
One thing I really thanked my teachers/professors back in collage. They were super harsh... and I bet they sometimes purposely gave irrational feedback. Only when I got out in the real world I realized it's all for the good of us students.
I think i need to pay off my student loans before I get one of these...by that time, maybe there will be more companies producing them and that will force the market price down. I see these bottoming out at around $750 in about 10 years or so.
Work with people better than yourself - join a team / company. I'd advise against teams of students/straight out of college, you want to move up not circle around the same ideas and proficiency :) Nothing like a job to make you up your game
Lately I've been working on a student game called Isa's Edda. I am doing the main character and most of environment for the game. I just wanted to share my tree textures because I am super excited with how they turned out!
Actually, to be fair, this is the way art schools pick their students here in Sweden. Since there are many applicants(school is free here) they pick the ones they see the most potential in and not always the best ones. Will you be posting any of your progress during the process here on polycount, Hazardous?
I added some details and changed little details of the geometry and it's finally done. I'm pretty happy with the result and I learned a lot in the process which is really important for a student like me. Hope you guys like it. Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/DNm1A
