Could try using lazymouse if you insist on drawing it with lasso, or even just default masking tool, which helps with shaky/wobbly lines. Also don't forget to smooth that indent out once extruded in to get a better bake (i'm sure you were intended to anyway).
Do you, at all, have a specific intention of medium or context you want your art to be appreciated in? Like for me, I like to make video games and play video games. Most of my art is intended for a video game medium. What is yours, if you have one?
Captain Nemo's diving helmet: A couple of minor issues to fix, but I'll be revisiting each asset prior to baking to make sure everything's ironed out. Since the rifle and the helmet are intended to be player-collectible items, here's the helmet mounted as it will appear in the office: Thanks again for everyone's feedback!
ahh bob, did you make it back home ok? glad you're alright! and mad props for flying over just to meet us lot hahaha. was a really good meat-up (pun intended). bodeans really do the best beef i've ever eaten... ever.
In the case where there are two similar models side for side, one is the high poly, the other is the intended low poly I'll put the normals on. The l-shaped bit of geometry is me thinking I might zbrush up some rough bricks to normal onto the wall. Thoughts? -- Kitty
The other argument is that not every movie needs to be smart or challenging, and Pacific Rim - to my knowledge - never claimed to be either of those things. So people running it down for not being what it never intended to be is silly. Might as well get irritated at it for the lack of Victorian period costumes at the same…
Looks great, reminds me a little of a Tadpole. Not sure what you have intended for the Propeller mechanism but that sharp angle at the front of the whole assembly looks a bit odd to me atm. Could you now make an Amphibious Armature (FROG) that the pod slides into for Coastal and Marsh exploration?
I'm interested in this aswell as I intend to purchase for UE in the next few weeks. From the hours of research I've done thus far I'll probably go with the vive but it would be great to get some feedback from those that are deving rather than just the usual gamer mob.
Another lighting and texturing update. Intending to revisit the models for the shelves if I have time before the hand-in as well as put the lights in above the doorways, but priorities are currently to re-colour grade and adjust the lights below the pod and then move onto my 6 other pre-Christmas assignments.
The crate issue is solved. Sadly I can't pinpoint the exact reason for this. =/ However it seems like no one else have had the same type of issue which means it could be just my machine or something like that. I'm just glad that the crate is working now as intended. xD
