Welcome to the 2D Noob challenge! This thread is for those of you who wish to improve your skills in concepting / 2D in general. This will start as a once every 2 weeks challenge and on the beginning of each new challenge I will post two entries, the most creative idea and the best technical. This is subject to change…
Started on a new project recently. :) Inspired by a similar project by RiotForQuiet over in this thread: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99086&highlight=Shaco The goal is to make a skin for the champion Wukong from League of Legends. First I did a little "research" and by research I mean gawk at LoL skins…
Hey everyone! :) I'm currently developing a medieval RTS with Unreal Engine 4. I'm working on this for almost a year now, so quite some time and the game is already working pretty well. I have mostly only worked on getting the logic of the game done since I am no artist, so I don't have super fancy graphics to show to you…
So far Bush's and Kerry's response has been less than encouraging. Bin Laden - 18 minutes of who, what, where, and why...directed to the American people, including reasons and facts of past conflicts. Bush and Kerry - Short sentence: "we're going to hunt and kill the terrorist". Terror Alert raised. It's not my intention…
I needed a break from routine and decided to model the well and see how long it would take in Maya. I modeled the rope wrapped around the winch which added to the poly count. Did some beveling as well. 1800-ish tris. Took 2.5 hours on the nose and that included bending the geometry into position. I'm not going to hand…
This WIP caught my eye as I happen to be doing a Executioner's sword for the Knight, which usually had a square-ish tip just like your broadsword skin! Keep in mind these swords do thrusting/stab damage in-game and straight tips shouldn't really pierce through plate armor :P Remember they don't really want too fantasy-y…
I don't think they are needed in the design. But yes, it's better now. For the box-ish comment, it's only if you want to follow the ref for proportions. It seems to me the top part in the ref is smaller/thinner than the lower part, and the lower part a bit wider. The flat line looks to be a bit higher than half the height.…
Submission on the finish line...hurray ^^ Single retake in photoshop to add a vignetting. Beside that, 100% procedural Designer / Iray. 3 Texture sets, 2k each to keep the pixel ratio overall the entire model : Wireframe & Closeup : As for the background story, I thought about telling the whole thing, the way I imagined…
Hi, Rob! I've recently tried Mightybake and was really impressed by the functionality and speed of baking! Great job, man! I'd like to give a little feedback to make it work even better! 1) The ways MB/Maya and Xnormal/Max limit the rays distance and direction are quite different. In xnormal or max we have to manually…
Played for about an hour and a half last night. Great freaking game. Love love love it so much already. It's harder, which is AWESOME. I love the bosses (though ive only faught flynt so far). It actually took me a few tries to beat flynt, which i loved. I picked the gunzerker. I think at the start, he feels slow. You cant…
