I just created another Machine, not quite done yet, it needs some more cables and pipes, also obviously materials. I hope i can finish this in the next few days (being optimistic here), and then i need at least 2 more machines until i can start thinking about wrapping up the whole project and build the final environment… -

Ok, so I got started on the staff. Found out that the requirements for the warlock staff are pretty rough, 500tris for lod0 and 300 for lod1. So I decided to do a lowpoly mockup to keep my shapes within those limits. Afterwards I have been replacing each element by highpoly versions. The chain and wraps are done just done… -

thanks tobbo I tried really hard to make this look correct. I am still trying to wrap my head around PBR so that I can make it my focus when texturing. would anyone have any tutorials or general tips on how to properly train yourself to think when texturing? I have done research myself but it seems that texturing for PBR… -

4K is over the top, even. Unless you're going to zoom in on someone's arse dimples. I mean, HD monitor res is 1920x1080. A 2048x2048 is larger than the entire screen. Even though it wraps around a lot of mesh, it's still a lot of texture resolution. Use multiple 2048's if you have to, but 4k+ is just a waste, not to… -

My drawings are too much rely on the lines. They're dirty sketches rather than paintings. I could never wrapped my head to actual painting stuff (using and mixing brush strokes, using different color tones to suggest shapes and volumes) I wish to be able to 'paint' stuff. From your side view, the mask looks too flat, or too close to his face. Check out Army of Two, or Deathstroke for mask reference. Other than that, it looks like you are really honing in on Vigil's style. Have the weapon wrappings closer to the cross-guard around the handle, it doesn't look like he'd be able to grab it very… -
