A new file format from Pixar. Its like an FBX file on steroids. The core idea behind USD is that it does live on the harddrive. Nah, that's not what it means. Lets say you have a ground plane, with a box on top. That box will need to have a a bottom polygon on it. It cannot be open-faced. So if you stick a metal pipe a few inches into a character, the end cap of that pipe needs to be capped off with polys. Understand? Basically, no open faces like… -
