Awesome movie, Bond is back on track! The parkour section at the start was an excellent way to kick it into gear, and Daniel Craig was an awesome Bond. If only he looked a little more Bond-ish (IMHO Brosnan was the perfect look for Bond), but Craig acted the part very nicely. My main criticisms would be that the movie was…
I would probably suggest mirroring your uvs, as you are doing it in your texture (ie the pants, and the white sleeve section). If you find yourself copying a section of texture, and flipping it in the diffuse map...stop and go into your 3d program and do it there, or make sure that you vary your flipped part of texture…
I wasn't sure if he wanted an explode-type effect, or a cross section. For the explode I was thinking modeling everything separate (screws, bolts, etc) and just having things translate apart. For cross-sections, I was thinking booleans would easily offer a lot of control* choosing what gets clipped; peel back part of an…
I looked at the composite material where you can tweak and define layers http://www.cgnewspaper.com/load/images/feature2008/max09/max9-colormap.jpg and it lets you tweak booth alpha and RGB apart. Maybe there is a way through blend modes to filter out a specific RGB color. Once that is figured out it could be automated by…
You've just discovered when the joy of kit-bashing swings around and kicks you in the balls! :) It's a very powerful method for concepting but for production modeling it's often quicker in the end to do a blockout as kit-bashing parts are usually complex geo that when mashed together can be a nightmare to retopo.…
Goal for today : get the hip junction done. My idea for this vehicule's is that the hip and knee for each leg are each powered by a different engine, while the foot and ankle articulations are powered by way of hydrolic actuators. Engine A powers the Hip, but the energy to power the knee has to go from Engine B through the…
Finally got round to having a proper go at doing the lighting and increasing the AO. Apart from the lighting i decided to remake a few parts and change of of the trim sheet textures. Pretty happy looking back from the last time i have posted. Feel like i am getting to a state where i can start to really focus on areas and…
I really like it so far, I think you've nailed the 'living elbow to elbow' part! The environment feels closed in and claustrophobic, which I think is what you were going for? You could darken the skybox a little and perhaps play around with the emissive of the bridge, maybe increasing the glow intensity a bit. I also feel…
Update: Fixed the pants, almost re-did them fully. Ditched the low-crotch since I realized it would stretch alot when posing/animating. Redid all of the folds aswell while i was at it and added all the seams. Will probably do some small detail on them. Changed up the hand so that it connected better and beefed it up a bit.…
