Volume doesn't matter if you're baking a normal map. Unless the model has some deep cuts. Shrinkage is how subdivision works. Think of the vertices of your low-res model as being like magnets. The closer together the vertices, the stronger they will pull the subdivided mesh towards the original surface. So yes, you'll need…
I just went and actualy read the article and it makes total sense to me. They say that yes, a large majority of the studios in canada are indie devs, but almost all of them have less that 25 employees. By contrast 83% of the work force in the industry works for huge aaa companies. So ofcourse the salary average is going to…
I think part of that is that there's not enough tangent data on the low to capture it (that normal is casting at a 45º angle, between the two faces, if it's got 1 smoothing group), but it could be the rear distance raycast setting. You can adjust that setting in xNormal.

Sounds like you just needed to Reset XForms. Attaching to a new box has the same effect. From now on can just press Reset XForms > Reset Selected in the Utility Panel. http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-B98414B9-4F28-45F4-A1F4-9DA994548ED9-htm.html

Its recommended to adjust this to the point where you HAVE To move your arm. Don't use your wrist for any motions if you're using…
