Have you downloaded the service pack for max 8 yet? If not, you need to. It fixes a lot of these types of issues. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=6487160&linkID=5573636
Prop Artist can also get blurry. I know at some places it can mean environment decorations, etc, but I'm a Prop Artist and I do things the player uses, weapons and items and pickups or whatever.
Worked a treat, thanks so much man you saved a lot of frustration, a lot of my hair and potentially most of the breakable items in my office. Well I'll certainly have learned this lesson for next time!
Ged: exactly the kind of feedback im looking for, thanks dude. :) I should have put a few more items/details in the scene to convey better scale. But yeah, it's the former. Still a bit of work to go yet.
I'd reverse the order of the items.. so you have your newest work first. that way if people do get bored half way through at least they've seen your best stuff, not your oldest.
There is no way to do this currently, but editing properties for multiple selected items is something we would like to add in the future. For the short term, it would probably be best to merge as many of these objects in Maya as you can and export a new file.
Thanks for the tip n_n Yeah I see a lot of people doing this. I just got excited about some of the items. I'll make the room a priority now. Not sure if I want to do it in Maya or in engine. Hmm.
No reason to open this thread, it was all over the general thread yesterday, and it was posted on the dev forums. The models compile fine, it is just the various previews that are bugged out. You can use hlmv in the mean time to test most items.
@ambershee - I've tried upping the Lightmap resolution to 2048 on the ground the shadow is being cast on, and the items casting the shadow. There has been no luck with it. @Adam - I have turned GI on and off, the image above is with GI off. thanks!
@BIGTIMEMASTER Hey. Thanks for sharing Your knowledge ;] Yes, that's nice idea, it's hard to tell how big it is. A item to compere size could be a coin, dollar bill or even smartphone, because everyone know the size of it. Thanks for inspiration !
