Isn't the bump map basically just functioning as a height map to enhance the depth of the normals? Unless I'm totally wrong.

The see-through parts of the model must be their own mesh group for the transparency to function as-intended, just a quick heads-up. :)

I don't believe this is actually possible, there's probably a script out there emulating it, but base functionality wise. I've never seen it.

The functionality is there and present in the UI, the scripts are for convenience. You can't tell me you don't use any Modo scripts.
