Also, the leafs will go some way to hiding where these elements of the mesh join. It all depends on how closely you want it to be viewed :D

Thanks Elithenia Here's another update. Got the armor mostly blocked in. Will start adding some details like maybe decorative elements and/or damage.

With the low poly selected go down the stack to element mode and hide all, then with it still selected go back up to the projection modifier and bake.

Also, maybe bring the wrap on the mouth/jaw region down a little bit to really showcase the lack of a bottom jaw (add to the creepy element)

Exactly. So why duplicate the texture elements and lose resolution? Overlap the UVs for the diffuse/spec/normal and you'll nearly tripple your resolution.
