Regarding drawing. Opinion vary here. I say it depends on how you personally learn best. Some people learn best by just doing tons of stuff and repeating things endlessly, some learn more by focusing analyizing and carefully executing. Some learn better in 3d than 2d (me personally, I better comprehand things as 3d objects…
They do accept everyone, but from my experience, the ones that don't cut it in the first year don't end up coming back. The instructors are brutally honest with their critiques. I've seen students throw their drawing boards, storm out of class, swear at the teachers, etc. They are also very conservative with grading. You…
Same. Growing up we had computer lab monitors that would go crazy on anyone caught moving the mouse to the other side of the keyboard. They were very dogmatic about their approach to "proper computing". They were even worse on people who hunted and pecked. I got good at discretely rebeling but over time I just gave up and…
Today I've been texturing Caitlyn's boots. It was pretty straight forward, use the brush tool to make the straps around the boot, add Bevel and Drop shadow in the Blending options, and add the metal part to it. The most interesting part about today is making the seams. I did this by creating my own brush, in the Brush…
I feel fairly confident in my skills that being said. Figure drawing, perspective, drawing in general, 3d modeling, hand painted textures, I'm fairly good at composition but that could probably use some work to.
I quite like the day 2 picture - looks a bit like he's standing at a window and it's raining outside. I'd love to mean, but the drawings aren't that bad, unless you're focusing on something specific in your drawings?
Hey man, I think you need to focus a bit more on your silhouette on this last drawing. It's feeling a bit mushy. Define some shapes with stronger straighter edges. Pretend you're drawing fucking superman.
@makkon great as always!! Going overboard for this challenge is good! @Dado that is really great! Such clean lines!! @Stinger88 nice drawing! More practice drawing old men. Starting to get the hang of it. Bottom 3 are from imagination.
in the later versions of max, in the freeform section of the graphite modeling tools there is a tool to draw splines on top of any surface. draw the bevels out, model a beveled strip and path-deform/extrude along the spline. easy floaters!
