The more "typical" workflow for these type of assets would be to wrap the asset to your mesh and transfer/bake the maps (without the need to mess with your geometry). Asset vendor should also have tutorials/documentation to show you how to do it (i.e. tex xyz has videos for their Vface assets).
The crates' low-poly has multiple materials assigned, meaning you will need to bake textures for each one. If you didn't do so, my guess is here lies the problem. Or simply use one material for all parts of the create. Then of course you need to pack UVs of all parts together. Attached you find a fbx of the modified…
Well yeah I can relate to the OP from time to time due to the lack of visual design library on my head for some new particular subject that I'm making. So my conclusion is that the problem here is to be able to 'design' certain things that wasn't too obvious from the reference, the way I face this is non other then looking…
Finding myself getting less frustrated and hard to keep away from the game, despite it slapping my face. Had many goes at the belfry gargoyles but couldn't quite do it. Turned human and summoned an NPC phantom and had a crack, then the game juddered at a key point due to many particle effects and I ended up dying. Went to…
Visually it was a masterpiece, but everyone knows that already. Overall, the plot felt like it was stuck somewhere between an extremely expensive Ferngully, and a reflection upon the inherent racism and violence found within the human race when faced with something outside of their control. On one hand we have the…
Finally succeeded to bake the mia_round_corner effect into normal map :) As you can see there are 2 remaining problems: 1/ minor artifacts on the cap edge of the cylinder which I can't solve...Edge padding that I need to change maybe ? 2/ As Polynaught stated : "Take for example two convex neighbouring faces - if their…
Sorry mate , my way is each vehicle tank to have it's own pattern , in fact I have for the german factions 6 -8 different patterns so each one have a diferent skin as they were in the theatre of operations durring ww2. Realism for me is everything , it giving the all idea of ww2 that's why a skin for me is not a single…
Now Im in the stage most of us like. Sculpting :) I will describe the process on how I get to final bust, also you can see the image process: 1. Using poligroups to separate body parts. Make the whole bust one single group and just split it 2. Finding the head shape/mood: When I see Twitch designs defo there is one word…
I think the fluidness of the top one works well in the figure. The face on angelica is nice too. There are several things that I would advise for you. I would study the human figure some more. Hong ly on his website has photosets of characters that you can use to study from. http://www.characterdesigns.com/ In fact he is…
I faced this problem too (atleast I think I did) then I found a studio that wasn't as narrow minded, in the sense that they didn't have to be as they have work that needs realism as well as stylised and cartoony work, having an artist with that versatility is a huge asset to them and they can budget accordingly. So they…
